Dog Friendly Beaches

There are several dog friendly beaches at Lake Tahoe. Although dogs are not allowed on designated swimming beaches there are many places for you and your dog to play in the water.  Also, the lakes and streams in Desolation Wilderness are another good option. Check out Lake Tahoe Water Trail for updated information on dogs and beaches at Lake Tahoe.

East Shore Beaches
Along Highway 28, take a hike with your dog down to several public beaches including Chimney Beach, Hidden Beach and Secret Cove. You can find some great rocks to hang out, sandy beaches and breathtaking views. Stay tuned for more details on how to access these beaches. Ski Beach in Incline Village
Incline Beach is private in the summer, but open to dogs from November to April only. Check with IVGID on specific dates opening and closing.

Coon Street Beach Kings Beach, California
Specified Dog Beach south of the boat launch on Coon Street with parking area, picnic tables and bathrooms. This is not a sandy beach, it is a rock beach. But a nice option so your dog can go swimming if you live or are staying in the area.

Elizabeth Williams (Pebble Beach)
West Shore, North of Kaspian

Watermans Landing – Carnelian Bay
This is a great little sandy dog beach for you and your canine companion. There is also a cafe for coffee or lunch and parking.

Desolation Wilderness
There are many lakes and streams in Desolation wilderness for you and your dog.
